The Reds Burst Out Of The Blocks In The Season Opener!

A fantastic start to the season from the boys, scoring plenty and keeping the opposition on the back foot for large parts of the game.

Early pressure paid off when Zak Rush released Oscar who smartly finished past the on-rushing keeper.

We were still on top, but a mix-up gave Silhill a corner where they capitalised on some poor marking to tap in at the back post. Unfortunate to let them back into the game, but the wake-up call fired some of the lads up, in particular Zak Rush who blitzed down the left hand side and rifled into the far corner to put us back in front.

Deja vu a few minutes later, when Zak Rush again put his foot down to beat the defender and smash the ball into the top corner.

3-1 and in control at Half Time.

With our tails up, Oscar broke clear and slotted it past the keeper to make it 4-1, with complaints from the opposition about a foul in the build up.

Josh P then put Fin through who calmly dispatched into the far corner, despite none of us knowing whether it went in because it burst the net!

Zak R was then gifted his hatrick, slotting in after a defensive mix-up.

Harry decided he wanted to get on the scoresheet and followed up after some good work from JP, rolling the ball into the empty net.

Silhill grabbed a late consolation but the job was done and the fired-up Reds celebrated a 7-2 victory on the first day of the season.

We had all 14 players today, and every single player played their part in what was a fantastic opening result. Special mentions go out to Zak Rush who bagged 3 and Oscar who bagged 2, with excellent performances, but it was Ollie who stole the show today with an energetic performance, winning absolutely everything and almost grabbing a goal but for a decent save from their keeper.
