THE FACTS<br style="line-height: 1.2em; outline-style: none; outline-width: initial; outline-color: initial;" />Score:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Goodfellas&nbsp;3 - USRC 1

Goals:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Doug (Free kick), Cedric(Solo), Howard (Solo)

Warmup:&nbsp;&nbsp; Killah (Ball-less session)

Talk:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Pete (The best team talk in the history of all mankind&nbsp;in all competitive and amateur sports ever played)

Position:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Fellas&nbsp;currently second after Studz

&nbsp;

THE PLAN

First Half (4-5-1)

Philip

Bear, Justin, David, Siedel

Doug, Garrow, Howard, Ariel, Koh

Cedric

&nbsp;

Second Half (4-4-2)

Philip

Bear, Justin, David, Parker

Sebastian, Ariel,&nbsp;Howard, Pete

Killah, Cedric

&nbsp;

THE FIRST HALF

- Started a little flat&nbsp;(none of us had touched a ball during warmup, except for my daughter's mini size football)

-&nbsp;Realized this was&nbsp;good&nbsp;for&nbsp;team unity&nbsp;(what else&nbsp;to do but twiddle&nbsp;thumbs together)

- Game evened out soon with good defending on both sides

- USRC ex-pro broke away down&nbsp;right,&nbsp;slotted home from&nbsp;impossible angle.&nbsp;USRC 1 - 0

- Howard&nbsp;had&nbsp;two shots on goal, the second one clearly much&nbsp;stronger than first, at approximately 4 km/h (slow motion replay for both&nbsp;would have taken 30 minutes)

- Doug brought down on the right,&nbsp;15 yards into USRC half

-&nbsp;Self-taken free kick&nbsp;floated over penalty spot and&nbsp;nudged in by the keeper. 1 - 1

-&nbsp;Inspired Cedric found&nbsp;space in&nbsp;middle,&nbsp;dribbled past&nbsp;two&nbsp;of defenders&nbsp;for mid range shot

- Keeper backpedalled, tripped over&nbsp;his own feet&nbsp;and ball finds back of the net. Fellas 2 - 1&nbsp;at half time

&nbsp;

THE SECOND HALF

-&nbsp;Tactical change to 4-4-2 to kill off game (USRC defense rubbish)

- Momentum continued with the&nbsp;Fellas at restart

-&nbsp;Good mix of smooth Fellas passing and long balls&nbsp;added&nbsp;pressure

- Cedric's header from corner cracked the woodwork (slightly stronger than Howard's shots, I might add)

- The only nutmeg of the match by yours truly (feels good to be back)

-&nbsp;Solid defending by back four throughout half, Justin/Bear&nbsp;probably had 90% of headers

- Couple of clutch saves by Philip

- Scramble in USRC box, ball rolled to Howard, who finally unleashed&nbsp;something&nbsp;respectable and Fellas up 3 - 1

- Killah maimed USRC keeper about 15 times (all fairly though, no fouls committed)

- Game effectively over after goal

&nbsp;

THE WISDOM

- Tactical change effective

- Win starts in the head, sound mental game important

- Bring balls to warmup

- Have ball-less segment in warmup for solidarity

- Running 120% for one half is better than 60% for two halves (good use of substitution)

- This match report is short, concise, chock-full of usefull facts and sage-like wisdom

- I am not match fit yet
