Home league match
Glebe U9 Jaguar’s hosted AFC Shortland at Chislehurst on 23 November 2025, kicking off at 11:00am in a 7-a-side league fixture. In front of 20 spectators, the match ended 7–3 to AFC Shortland after a competitive and energetic 60 minutes.
Glebe lined up in a 2-1-3 formation, with Harrison Elsey in goal and the defensive pairing of Mikey Gorringe and George Mansell, who both put in a huge shift throughout. Their hard work—especially key interventions early on—kept Glebe battling and showed real defensive commitment. Lewis Whyte anchored midfield early on, linking play and supporting both ends of the pitch, before Brown stepped in confidently, adding fresh energy and working hard to keep Glebe moving forward.
Up front, George Martin, Winston Goody, and Ben Insall formed the attacking trio, with Ben repeatedly pushing forward and supporting every attacking move.
AFC Shortland started strongly, but Harrison responded with several impressive saves. Despite Shortland taking advantage before half-time, Glebe showed character, with the second half bringing higher pressing and more forward momentum.
The attacking efforts paid off as Martin, Goody, and Insall combined for three well-worked goals, one of which followed superb build-up play through the team. Ben’s constant pressure and willingness to drive forward were central to these moments, helping Glebe stay competitive with further backing from Chenery.
Although Shortland’s finishing proved decisive, the Jaguars showed teamwork, determination, and clear progress—especially through Mikey and Mansell’s defensive graft and the forward line’s perseverance. The referee managed the game excellently, and the experience gained will serve the team well in future fixtures.
