Future Pro Football Academy hosted Metatron Football Academy at Bro.say sports arena on 14 December 2025, with kick-off at 4:00pm in a high-octane 7-a-side friendly match. The encounter lasted 50 minutes plus injury time, with an additional two minutes of extra time played. Future Pro emerged victorious in a thrilling 7-4 scoreline, showcasing attacking verve and defensive resilience in equal measure.

Future Pro lined up in a 3-2-1 formation, a setup designed to balance defensive solidity with midfield control and a focal striker. Abu-Rahman Kamal guarded the goal, supported by a back three comprising Bitrus Innocent at right defender, Louis Ejeru centrally, and an unnamed left defender. The midfield duo of Ali-Balogun Olatunji and Sagbovoun Isaac were tasked with both breaking up opposition play and initiating attacks. Up front, Olorunlana Emmanuel led the line as the lone striker, expected to convert chances and hold up play. The substitutes available were Akanbi Basit, Ani Goodluck, Korede Adebisi, Balogun Ola, and Bello Malik.

The match burst into life early on as Ali-Balogun Olatunji opened the scoring for Future Pro in the fifth minute, demonstrating his ability to influence the game from central midfield. However, Metatron responded swiftly, netting twice within five minutes to take a 2-1 lead by the tenth minute, putting pressure on the home side.

Shortly after, Future Pro made their first substitution at the 12th minute, with Akanbi Basit replacing right defender Bitrus Innocent. This change aimed to shore up the defence and inject fresh energy. Three minutes later, a more attacking switch saw Ani Goodluck come on for the goal scorer Ali-Balogun Olatunji in midfield, signalling a tactical shift.

Ani Goodluck quickly justified his introduction by scoring in the 16th minute, assisted by striker Olorunlana Emmanuel, to level the scores at 2-2. Goodluck’s impact continued as he doubled his tally four minutes later, this time set up by Sagbovoun Isaac, who was beginning to assert himself in the central midfield role.

Metatron struck back again in the 23rd minute to regain the lead, making it 3-4, but the half closed with the teams locked in a competitive tussle. The referee Dangote brought the first half to a close at the 25-minute mark.

The second half resumed with Metatron extending their advantage in the 30th minute, pushing Future Pro onto the back foot. In response, Future Pro made a substitution at the 35th minute, with Korede Adebisi replacing Olorunlana Emmanuel up front, aiming to refresh their attacking options.

Further changes followed as Balogun Ola replaced Korede Adebisi at the 41st minute, and shortly after, at the 44th minute, Bello Malik came on for Olorunlana Emmanuel, indicating a reshuffle in the forward line to maintain pressure.

Balogun Ola made an immediate impact, scoring in the 43rd minute with a well-placed finish assisted by Akanbi Basit, bringing the scoreline to 5-4 in favour of Future Pro. The momentum was firmly with the hosts as they pressed for more.

Ani Goodluck continued his fine form by scoring again in the 46th minute, assisted once more by Sagbovoun Isaac, who was proving to be the creative heartbeat of the team. This goal extended Future Pro’s lead to 6-4.

Balogun Ola sealed the scoring for Future Pro with a second goal in the 48th minute, rounding off a remarkable comeback and ensuring a 7-4 victory. The match concluded shortly after with the referee signalling full time following two minutes of added extra time.

Sagbovoun Isaac was deservedly named Player of the Match for his influential performances in midfield, providing crucial assists and controlling the tempo throughout. Future Pro Football Academy’s tactical flexibility and effective substitutions were key in overturning the early deficit and securing a memorable win against Metatron Football Academy.
