Elmden Rovers Clacton FC U13 2010/2011â â vâ holland Reds

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">Not a great game to watch today, it was a bit windy and some of the team work and passing just was not there.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">&nbsp;We started with a line up of Curtis, Antony, Lewis W, Regan, Matthew, Cory, Aean, Lewis B, Jerome, Cameron and Terrence.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">We started off ok and after only 5 mins Aean had a shot on goal that was saved by the keeper, but within 10 mins we were defending as a shot squeezed past Curtis and Lewis W just got back to clear it off the line, Soon after Matthew gave away a free kick on the edge off the penalty area and after some shouting from the side lines we sort of managed to hold a line, before Curtis made a good save. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">In a mad 5 mins spell, Holland had a shot that just went over the bar, Cameron&rsquo;s effort went just wide of the post, Holland managed to get a goal, and 2 mins later Terrence got on the score sheet with a well taken volley in a packed penalty area.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">After the break Curtis made a couple of saves but could not do anything about the goal on 53 mins as their striker had a shot from long range and it flew into the net.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">Holland broke through again and scored a scrappy goal.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">&nbsp;A couple of mins later Lewis W made a great last ditch tackle inside the area when it looked like the Holland player was about to score.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">15 mins before the end of the game when we were trying to get an equaliser we fell apart in the midfield and the defence didn&rsquo;t have anybody &nbsp;to cover the players running through the middle of the pitch and we were caught out 3 times.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">We did not play our best football today, and we are still making silly mistakes like not marking players, and not tracking back after we have gone on the attack. Another thing we need to work on is that when we are defending a free kick we need to get the midfield into a wall quickly and the defence need to listen to make sure they don&rsquo;t keep walking back towards Curtis&rsquo;s goal, this gives him room to come out a collect the ball if it is chipped over the wall.
