Despite a breezy morning in Willenhall, a few old favourites turned up to flavour the revitalized spirit in the camp . Ageing gigolo Wes Felton skipped across the estate to watch and our demanding pre season fitness coach Muttley Moore showed up in the desperate hope that we had found some shorts big enough for him to get a game . Walsall - Birmingham City old boy Martin O Connor even put in an appearance (pencil and notepad at the ready) , with Halesowen Town obviously looking for a new manager and Barrington wondering when Darlo are going to offer him a 3 year deal with perks. "Blustery conditions prevailed across the Midlands" according to Sky weather girl Nasaneen Ghaffar (i would) and the Darlo Ghaffar was forced into several changes . Rick(suspended) forced a change in keeper and with Mitch taking his paternity leave too far , Skipper Gaz Holder stepped smoothly into midfield. Rude Boy Antwon slid (too much baby oil) almost un noticed onto the bench to allow Squizz a start alongside Colin up top. The Furzebank Gale blew across the plains of Willenhall to lead to unforced errors on both sides , but the gap in the league table was not evident on the pitch as both sides had chances . Our left sided players were having a torrid time as they struggled to put a productive move together and Baz bought on Ash at half time to help us retain possession a little. On the hour Gaz released Colin into a long run , Col still had lots to do but he outpaced the defence and rounded the keeper before putting us 1-0 up ;the chavvy goalie threw his burberry cap off in disgust . We kept a grip on the game for a while but it was the home side who equalized when Ben misjudged a swirling hoof forward . The space created by the slip up allowed the Malthouse player to zip a low ball in which was met at the far post to put them level . Malthouse came at us and after a fine series of defensive blocks from Dan in goal and Ash Knight , the home side thought they had sealed victory when they went ahead. A month or so I reckon that would have been goodnight Vienna but we never gave up and even the Silver Fox became animated on the line , big Hickers having to calm me down a bit . The game had opened up by now and both teams were launching attacks . Squizz had a goal disallowed for offside , but as Acker got in a cross from the left , our cherub faced fanny magnet Ben Wilson grabbed a cheeky equalizer 2-2 . Even then both sides had chances to snatch the points . Tom Brettle had to limp off after a tremendous effort up and down the flank and Luke Lloyd almost put through the Squirrel for a winner . But it was not to be .. a draw not a bad result at Malthouse who always give us a good honest game . I'll settle for that showing boys ..at least we are showing a bit of bollocks now and not rolling over . Halesowen Town: Next manager Betting : EVENS: BJ Plant . 5-1 Craig Sheldon 20-1 Steve Clarke 50-1 Zinedine Zidane 100-1 Anton 5000-1 Bert
