Home league match

Two nil up with 18 minutes to go, another 3 points thrown away when 1 point isn't good enough if The Panthers think they can claim one of the top two spots.

The game kicked off 10 minutes late, and then the players and supporters had to endure a further delay whilst a Dynamo player received treatment. Later it was confirmed that the player concerned broke his ankle and, as a club, we wish him all the best. It was lucky for him, however, that he wasn't dieing on the pitch, as the ambulance took 40 minutes to travel 400 yards - having said that, it's a pace that hasn't been seen from any Panthers players this season.

The game started fairly evenly, with both sides having a few half chances. The deadlock was broken when Marcin received the ball on the right and swung in a peach of a ball to Falmoa who was arriving at the back post, who took it on his right knee before volleying the ball home with his left from close range.

1-0 at half time, the home team should have spent the second half killing off the game, especially so when, after 6 minutes of the second half Everard swung in a beautiful cross to the far post where Gange rose like a salmon (the fish, not the striker, of course) and headed the ball across the 'keeper into the net.

2-0 and cruising. Well, not exactly. The second goal had come against the run of play and it was hardly surprising when the away team’s pressure resulted in the Dynamo's first. The left winger had been giving Shaw, who was playing out of position, a torrid time. It was work down the left that allowed the ball to be cut back to their striker for the easiest of tap ins.

With 5 minutes to go the Panthers should have been closing the game off, instead they were pushing on – going for a third when perhaps possession would have been the sensible option. There were only 2 minutes left on the clock when the Dynamo’s got the equaliser.

Heartbreak for The Panthers, but they brought it on themselves.

Club Captain and all round nice guy Andrew Gange said: "That was effing soil". The Panthers top scorer Paul Falmoa added: "Yeah, effing soil".

Club Technical Director of Football Seb Sroka said: “Oh no, no, no.”
