Home league match

Corinthian Casuals U12 kicked off their first match of 2026 on 11 January, hosting Bracknell Town FC Youth U12 Reds at home. After the holiday break, the team was eager to start the second half of the season strong, and they did just that with a 3–1 victory in front of about 25 spectators. The referee ensured the match ran smoothly on a slightly rocky pitch, and the Casuals adapted well.

Lining up in a 3-4-1 formation, Albie stood firm in goal, with Lourenço, Freddy, and Alfie forming the back three. The midfield featured Thomas on the right, Archer and Harvey in the center, and Fraser on the left, with Carter up front and Leo on the bench.

The action began early. In the 3rd minute, Thomas took a shot that rattled the crossbar, and Carter was perfectly positioned to slot in the rebound, giving the Casuals an early lead.

Throughout the first half, the team controlled the tempo, and in the 18th minute, Leo replaced Fraser on the left flank. The halftime whistle blew with the Casuals leading 1–0.

Early in the second half, Fraser returned for Thomas. Although Bracknell equalized in the 35th minute via an unfortunate own goal, the Casuals quickly regained their composure. In the 45th minute, Harvey intercepted the ball from the defenders and finished coolly inside the box, restoring the lead to 2–1.

In the 49th minute, Thomas returned to replace Archer in midfield. As the match neared its end, Thomas timed his run perfectly to meet a corner and head the ball into the net, making it 3–1 in the 59th minute.

In the closing moments, Archer came back on for Carter to help secure the win. The entire team delivered a strong performance to kick off 2026, though there is room to improve on short passing, especially on a bumpy pitch.

Carter was named Man of the Match for his goal and overall contributions. With a solid team effort and a positive start to the year, the Casuals are looking forward to the matches ahead.
