<p>&nbsp;On an extremely hot midday kick off we managed a solid start against a very physical IPSWICH VALLEY RANGERS team. Our passing game started very early and the first game nerves were settled when Ben scored our opener very early on in the game. IPSWICH VALLEY RANGERS tried to match us with passing and played very well until Freddie scored a good goal shooting while the ball was still rising! As good a game as IPSWICH VALLEY RANGERS gave us our goal never seemed to be seriously threatened. We defended well and held on to our 2-0 advantage at half time.

<p>Everyone played their part in a more competitive and closer second half with Cameron hitting the bar three times and Callum twice and also on three other occasions. It did not seem that we would add to our total, however the midfield of Kai, Tyler, Callum and Lewis kept pushing and finally a perfect through ball came through which Ben latched on to and dispersed with precision making it three. To their credit IPSWICH VALLEY RANGERS never gave up and kept pushing, however Finn was not going to be denied his first clean sheet of the season. A new look IVR will become a force in this division as it progresses through the season good luck to Aaron and his team.

<p>Well done guys, a great performance in your first game. As you all know, everyone that plays against us will treat it as a cup final and want to win. If we remain calm and display the spirit as we did today then I am sure this will be another successful season.

<p>We still do not have our home pitch available for next weeks game, so I will advise kick off time and venue as soon as the details are confirmed. I will also confirm future training nights asap.

<p>On another note and a change for this season we will be asking one parent to nominate man of the match each week hopefully this will be acceptable to you all.
