It all seemed against us, the long journey, the wait to get into the ground, the pitch, the bully boy tactics of the opposition and an appalling referee.

But through both good football and a fighting spirit, we gained our first back to back league wins since September.

Buckden started brightly, with Owen & Jack Bramley enjoying success down the flanks and Rob & Freemo controlling the game from midfield.

As of late, the defence looked very solid and Craig and Breamo were giving the Dynamo defence a tough time.

A slick move, which started from the back, culminated in a precise through ball from Craig to his strike partner and Breamo finished calmly.

1-0 and comfortable.

Unfortunately, at this point the referee got involved, giving the home side a very soft penalty.

Was the lead about to snatched away?

No! Boney makes a fine save from the spot kick and the lead is preserved.

Sadly, the referee clearly wanted to make a game of it and awarded another penalty, against Mike, for what looked from the sidelines to be a fine challenge. To add insult to injury, he also booked him.

Boney couldn’t do anything about the penalty and Dynamo were level.

The opposition were getting increasingly physical, a trend which continued throughout the game and gave a free kick away, some 35 yards from goal. Meddy chipped in a great cross, which the keeper flapped at and Jack nodded home (yes, with his head!).

Half time arrived and the talk was of keeping the ball and getting a cushion to go and win the game.

The second half started in much the same way as the first half had been played, Buckden playing football, the opposition content to spoil and kick.

Harry Ruydling, who came on late in the first half, was putting in some robust challenges and the oppos didn’t like it. All hell broke loose pushing, shoving, headbutts and punches.

When the referee finally got control, he decided that Mike was chief protagonist and gave him a second yellow.

We were left to see out the final 20 minutes with 10 men.

The lads responded magnificently, still playing football.

We conceded some chances, but Boney was equal to everything thrown at him.

A point blank header and a double one on one save, the pick of the bunch.

The referee ended the game and the points were deservedly ours.

Not many handshakes from the opposition, however, which summed them up!
