On 11 January 2026, Bowers & Pitsea U15 Whites welcomed Rochford Town Sports Y U15 Reds to the Fords Sports & Social Ground for a league home match kicking off at 12:30pm. The Whites delivered a commanding performance, running out comfortable 11-0 victors in an 80-minute contest refereed by Allan Eldridge, witnessed by a crowd of 40.

Bowers & Pitsea set up in a 3-4-3 formation, deploying Stanley Martin-Gardener in goal behind a back three of Rhys Hughes at right defender, Marcus Stanbury centrally, and Sebastian Cenciu on the left. The midfield quartet featured Benjamine Smith on the right, Huey Huckle and Oliver Norton centrally, and Luca Cepoi on the left, tasked with both defensive cover and supporting attacks. Up front, the front three consisted of Mattie Bristow on the right, Cory Jennings as the central striker, and Lewis Baber on the left, expected to spearhead the offensive threat. The substitutes bench included James Holgate, Oliver Wakeling, Marvellous Nbubueze, and Liam Stroud.

The Whites wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Luca Cepoi opening the scoring inside three minutes. Receiving the ball inside the box, Cepoi expertly finished with his left foot, setting the tone for a relentless attacking display. The early goal energised the home side, who continued to press high and create numerous opportunities.

At the 21st minute mark, Lewis Baber doubled the lead, converting a precise long pass from central midfielder Huey Huckle with a composed left-foot finish inside the box. Just three minutes later, Mattie Bristow added a third, capitalising on a long pass from striker Cory Jennings and slotting home with his right foot. The Whites’ fluid attacking movement was proving too much for the Reds’ defence.

Bristow was again on target in the 31st minute, this time finishing a short pass from Baber inside the box with a neat right-footed strike. Four minutes later, Huckle demonstrated his shooting prowess from distance, unleashing a powerful right-footed effort from outside the area that found the back of the net, extending the lead to five before the half-time whistle at 40 minutes.

At the interval, the Whites made an immediate change, with James Holgate replacing Rhys Hughes at right defender to maintain defensive solidity. The second half began with Bowers & Pitsea continuing their attacking onslaught. Within a minute of the restart, Cory Jennings scored from inside the box, guided home with his right foot following a well-delivered cross from Marcus Stanbury.

Rochford Town Sports Y struggled to contain the Whites’ relentless pressure, and at the 51st minute, Oliver Wakeling came on for Jennings, freshening the attacking options. Four minutes later, Oliver Norton produced a stunning long-range strike from outside the box, curling a right-footed effort beyond the goalkeeper to make it 7-0.

The Whites continued to rotate their squad with Marvellous Nbubueze replacing the tireless Bristow at the 60th minute. Just two minutes later, Lewis Baber scored a spectacular goal directly from a corner kick with his left foot, a rare and impressive feat that further demoralised the visitors.

Liam Stroud was introduced for Luca Cepoi at 65 minutes, and the scoring did not relent. Norton headed home a cross from Marcus Stanbury at 66 minutes, showcasing his aerial ability. Immediately after, Benjamine Smith added to the tally with a close-range header from a cross by Baber, making it 10-0.

Further substitutions saw Mattie Bristow return to the field for Baber and Cory Jennings reintroduced for Huckle at the 70th minute mark, maintaining the attacking impetus. The final goal came in the 72nd minute when Norton completed his hat-trick, finishing a short pass from Nbubueze with a left-footed strike from outside the box.

Oliver Norton’s influential performance, marked by three goals including a long-range strike and a headed goal, earned him the player of the match accolade. Bowers & Pitsea U15 Whites’ clinical finishing and cohesive team display ensured a resounding victory over Rochford Town Sports Y U15 Reds, who were unable to breach the Whites’ defence throughout the match.
