The team on the pitch at 7pm was a little lopsided. We had too many wingers and not enough defenders, so we tried to fit the team around that, but in truth it was a game were there were a lot of positional changes, as we tried to find the right formula/formation.
Good start anyway, unusually. Rob with an interception/pass to Paul that he finished well.
But shortly afterwards I dived in a bit on a forward and he played a through ball for their moustachioed Irish striker to run onto, Flip - who had started really well at centre half pulled his hamstring - and the striker beat Tyson for the equaliser.
Andy came on for the injured Flip, but the oppo's tails were up and they got a couple more from loose balls in the box and a fine finish from outside the area with Tyson who must have been blindsided getting a strong hand to it but unable to prevent the goal.
They scored a couple more early second half before we finally settled on a formation - with Chris at centre back - that at least tightened it up a bit and we didn't concede any more.
We had chances throughout the game, Cesar hitting a post and Paul and Tom forcing good saves from the keeper. But a tough night against a young athletic pressing side. BGC next week, so more of the same coming up.
MotM - Tom, closely followed I think by Tys and Paul.
Special mention #1 to Alex Hough, who I was hoping we would get a win for. Poor fella came off worse on his bike in an argument with a car and is now in a neck brace. But very luckily no major harm done.
And #2 - Rich's cousin Andy, once of this parish, funeral yesterday. We raised a beer to him in the Latch afterwards.
