The York FA is an amateur football league based in York, England. It was founded in 1897 and currently has over 200 member clubs. The league operates a number of divisions for both men and women, as well as youth and veterans' leagues.

History

The York FA was founded in 1897 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The first season of the league consisted of just four clubs, but it has since grown to become one of the largest amateur football leagues in England.

The league has hosted a number of notable players over the years, including former England internationals Peter Beardsley and Paul Gascoigne. In recent years, the league has also produced a number of professional footballers, including Ryan Mason and Josh Maja.

Current Structure

The York FA currently operates a number of divisions for both men and women, as well as youth and veterans' leagues. The men's leagues range from the Premier Division, which is at step 7 of the English football pyramid, down to Division 10. The women's leagues range from the Premier Division, which is at step 6 of the English women's football pyramid, down to Division 3.

The league also operates a number of cup competitions, including the York FA Challenge Cup, the York FA Senior Cup, and the York FA Veterans' Cup.
