Watford Sunday Football League
The Watford Sunday Football League is an amateur football league based in Watford, England. It was established in 1955 and currently has over 100 clubs playing in four divisions.
History
The Watford Sunday Football League was founded in 1955 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league initially had just two divisions, but it has since expanded to four divisions.
The league has been home to some of the best amateur footballers in the country, including former Watford players such as Luther Blissett and John Barnes.
Divisions
The Watford Sunday Football League currently has four divisions:
- Premier Division
- Division 1
- Division 2
- Division 3
The Premier Division is the top division in the league and is contested by the best clubs in the area. The other three divisions are also competitive and provide a good level of football for players of all abilities.
Cup Competitions
The Watford Sunday Football League also runs a number of cup competitions, including:
- Eric Hand Challenge Cup
- Terry Devereux Memorial President's Cup
- WSFL Chairmans Cup
- WSFL Denis Jackson Intermediate Cup
- WSFL Junior Cup
- WSFL Ken Simmons Cup
These cup competitions provide an opportunity for clubs to win silverware and compete against other teams from the area.
