The Warrington Sunday Football League is an amateur football league based in Warrington, Cheshire, England. It was founded in 1922 and currently consists of 46 teams competing in three divisions: Premier Division, Division One, and Division Two.
The league is affiliated to the Cheshire Football Association and is a member of the North West Counties Football League. It is one of the largest Sunday football leagues in the UK, with over 1,000 players registered.
The Warrington Sunday Football League was founded in 1922 by a group of local footballers who wanted to play competitive football on Sundays. The league initially consisted of just six teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 40 teams.
The league has seen some famous players pass through its ranks, including former England internationals Steve Bull and David Platt. In recent years, the league has also produced a number of professional footballers, including Danny Ward, who currently plays for Liverpool.
The 2023-24 season is currently underway. The Premier Division is being led by Kings Head FC, who are unbeaten in their opening five games. St Benedict's FC are in second place, while FC Sankey are in third.
In Division One, Clock Face Miners FC are top of the table, followed by Chorley Athletic FC and Warrington Dominos FC. In Division Two, the early leaders are Winwick Athletic FC, Wolf Pack FC, and The Bridge FC.
