History

The Tameside Sunday League was founded in 1922 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league began with just 4 divisions, but has grown steadily over the years. The current league structure consists of 6 divisions: Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, Division 4, Division 5, and Division 6.

The league has produced a number of talented players over the years, including former Manchester United players David Beckham and Nicky Butt.

Current season

The 2023-24 season of the Tameside Sunday League is scheduled to begin on Sunday, September 3, 2023. The league will be contested by over 100 clubs, with each team playing 22 games during the regular season. The top teams in each division will qualify for the playoffs, with the winners of the playoffs being promoted to the next division.
