Stockport Metro Amateur Football League

The Stockport Metro Amateur Football League (SMJFL) is a grassroots football league for boys and girls aged 6-18 years old. It is based in the Stockport area of Greater Manchester, England.

The league was founded in 1983 and currently has over 300 teams registered. It offers a variety of divisions for different age groups and abilities.

League Structure

The SMJFL is divided into three divisions:

  • U7-U11 Development League
  • U12-U18 Competitive League
  • U16-U18 Elite League

The U7-U11 Development League is designed to provide a fun and relaxed environment for young players to develop their skills. The U12-U18 Competitive League is more competitive, with promotion and relegation between divisions. The U16-U18 Elite League is the highest level of competition in the league.

The SMJFL's games are played at a variety of venues across the Stockport area, including:

  • Stockport Sports Village
  • Stockport Power League
  • St Paul's High School in Wythenshawe
  • Stockport Academy
