The Sills & Betteridge Lincoln & District Sunday Football League is an amateur football league based in Lincoln, England. It was founded in 1921 and is currently sponsored by Sills & Betteridge, a local law firm.
History
The league was founded in 1921 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The first season saw 10 teams compete, and the league has grown steadily ever since. Today, the league has 46 teams competing in three divisions.
Structure
The league is divided into three divisions: Premier Division, Division 1, and Division 2. The top two teams in each division are promoted at the end of the season, while the bottom two teams are relegated.
The league season runs from September to April, with each team playing 22 matches. The matches are played on Sundays, and most of them are played at local parks and recreation grounds.
Cup competitions
The league also has a number of cup competitions, including:
- The Fred Quibell Junior Cup
- The Jock Mitchell Memorial Trophy
- The Kelly Read Cup
- The Ron Eaglen Challenge Cup
These cups are open to all teams in the league, and they provide an opportunity for teams to win silverware and earn promotion.
