The Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA (S&HCFA) is a non-profit organisation that is responsible for the administration, development and governance of grassroots football within a 20 mile radius of Sheffield Cathedral.

It was formed in 1867, making it the second-oldest football governing body after the Football Association (FA). The S&HCFA has over 2,000 affiliated clubs and teams, and over 100,000 registered players.

Roles and responsibilities

  • The S&HCFA is responsible for the administration of grassroots football in its area. This includes things like registering clubs and teams, setting up leagues and competitions, and providing referees and coaches.
  • The S&HCFA also works to develop grassroots football. This includes things like providing funding for coaching courses, running school football programs, and promoting the benefits of playing football.
  • The S&HCFA is also responsible for the governance of grassroots football. This includes things like enforcing the FA's rules and regulations, and investigating allegations of misconduct.
