About the Rowsley & District Youth Football League

The Rowsley & District Youth Football League (NDYFL) is an amateur football league for youngsters in the North Derbyshire area. It was founded in 1947 and currently has over 300 teams and 4,000 players. The league is affiliated to the Derbyshire County Football Association and offers a variety of competitions for players aged 7-18.

History of the NDYFL

The NDYFL was founded in 1947 by a group of local football enthusiasts who wanted to provide more opportunities for youngsters to play the game. The league started with just a few teams and has grown steadily over the years. In 1997, the league affiliated to the Derbyshire County Football Association, which gave it access to more funding and resources.

The NDYFL has a long and proud history of providing opportunities for youngsters to play football. Many former NDYFL players have gone on to play professional football, including David Nugent, Ashley Young, and Jack Grealish.

Competitions

The NDYFL offers a variety of competitions for players aged 7-18. These include the following:

  • Divisional competitions for Under-7s to Under-18s
  • Cup competitions for Under-7s to Under-18s
  • Sunday League competitions for Under-16s and Under-18s
  • Girls' football competitions

The NDYFL also runs a number of development programs for players of all ages. These programs aim to help players improve their football skills and knowledge.
