The Potteries & District Sunday League is an amateur football league based in the North Staffordshire area of England. It was founded in 1920 and currently has over 100 teams competing in a variety of divisions.

History

The Potteries & District Sunday League was founded in 1920 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The inaugural season featured just 10 teams, but the league has since grown to become one of the largest and most successful Sunday leagues in the country.

The league has a long and proud history, and has produced some of the best amateur footballers in the country. Former players include England internationals Peter Shilton and David Platt, as well as Premier League stars such as Peter Crouch and Ashley Young.

Divisions

The Potteries & District Sunday League currently has 10 divisions, ranging from the Premier Division to Division 10. The top two teams in each division are promoted at the end of the season, while the bottom two teams are relegated.

The league also has a number of cup competitions, including the League Cup, the Subsidiary Cup, and the Veterans Cup.

Venues

The Potteries & District Sunday League games are played at a variety of venues across the North Staffordshire area. Some of the most popular venues include the Sir Stanley Matthews Sports Centre, the Victoria Ground, and the Abbey Hulton Sports Complex.
