Format

The league was a knockout tournament, with 64 teams competing. The teams were divided into 8 groups of 8, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the knockout stages.

The final was played at the Madejski Stadium in Reading, and AFC Wimbledon won 2-1 after extra time.
