About National Youth League

National Youth League

The National Youth League (NFYL) is an amateur football league in England for players aged 16-23. It was founded in 2019 by a group of former professional footballers who wanted to provide a competitive environment for talented young players who had not yet made it into the professional game.

The NFYL currently has 24 clubs, all of which are based in the north of England. The clubs are divided into two divisions, the Premier Division and the Championship. The top four teams in the Premier Division at the end of the season qualify for the promotion playoffs, with the winners being promoted to the National League North.

The NFYL is a well-run league with a strong reputation for providing high-quality football. The clubs are all committed to developing young players, and the league offers a number of opportunities for players to progress to the professional game.
