The Mercian Festival Junior Football League (MJFL) is an amateur football league for boys and girls aged 7 to 16 in the West Midlands, England.

The league was founded in 1974 and currently has over 100 clubs affiliated to it. The MJFL is affiliated to the Football Association (FA) and its competitions are played to FA rules.

About the League

  • The MJFL is divided into two divisions: the Premier Division and the Division One.
  • Each division is further divided into a number of leagues, based on the age of the players.
  • The season runs from September to May, with each team playing each other team in their league twice.
  • The top teams in each league at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom teams are relegated to the lower division.

Competitions

  • The MJFL runs a number of cup competitions, including the League Cup, the Challenge Cup, and the Floodlit Cup.
  • The League Cup is the most prestigious competition in the MJFL and is open to all teams in the Premier Division and Division One.
  • The Challenge Cup is open to all teams in the MJFL, regardless of division.
  • The Floodlit Cup is a knockout competition played on artificial pitches.
