MDL Premier Division

The MDL Premier Division is an amateur football league in the North East of Ireland. It is the top division of the North Eastern Football League (NEFL), and is currently contested by 16 teams.

The league was founded in 1979, and has been won by a total of 12 different teams. The current champions are Newry City, who won the title in the 2022-23 season.

Format

The MDL Premier Division is a league system, with each team playing each other twice, once at home and once away. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the NIFL Premier Intermediate League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the MDL First Division.
