Liverpool & District Sunday Football League 2018-19

The Liverpool & District Sunday Football League is an amateur football league in Merseyside, England. It was founded in 1925 and currently has over 300 clubs competing in 14 divisions.

History

The Liverpool & District Sunday Football League was founded in 1925 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league's first season consisted of just 10 clubs, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 300 clubs competing.

The league has been home to some notable players over the years, including former Liverpool and England international Steve McManaman. McManaman played for his local club, Crosby Juniors, in the league before moving on to professional football.

Structure

The Liverpool & District Sunday Football League is divided into 14 divisions, each of which is further subdivided into two groups. The top two teams from each group at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the lower division.

The league also has a cup competition, the Liverpool & District Sunday Challenge Cup. The cup competition is open to all clubs in the league and is played over a knockout format.

Current Season

The 2018-19 season is currently underway. The current champions are Wavertree Wanderers, who won the title in 2017-18.
