About Leinster Senior League

Leinster Senior League

The Leinster Senior League (LSL) is an association football league organised by the Leinster Football Association. It was founded in 1896 and is the third level division in the Republic of Ireland football league system.

History

The LSL was founded in 1896 as the Leinster Football Association. It was originally the highest level league in Ireland, but this changed in 1921 with the formation of the League of Ireland.

The LSL has been home to some of the most successful clubs in Irish football history, including Bohemians, Shelbourne, and Shamrock Rovers.

Structure

The LSL is divided into 23 divisions, including 11 Saturday and 12 Sunday divisions. The top division is the Senior Division, which is followed by the Premier Division, First Division, and Second Division.

The LSL also organises a number of cup competitions, including the Leinster Senior Cup, the Metropolitan Cup, and the Charlie Cahill Cup.

Current Season

The current season of the LSL is the 2023-2024 season. The Senior Division is currently being led by St. Mochta's, while the Premier Division is being led by Bluebell United.
