Kampala Regional League

The Kampala Regional League is an amateur football league in Kampala, Uganda. It is the third tier of football in Uganda, below the Uganda Premier League and the FUFA Big League.

The league is organized by the Kampala Region Football Association (KRFA). It was founded in 1975 and currently has 25 teams. The teams are divided into two pools, Cobra and Scorpion.

Season Format

The regular season of the Kampala Regional League runs from November to May. Each team plays each other team in their pool twice, once at home and once away. The top four teams from each pool qualify for the playoffs.

The playoffs are a knockout tournament. The semi-finals are played on a home and away basis, with the winners progressing to the final. The final is played at a neutral venue.

The 2023 season of the Kampala Regional League is currently underway. The top four teams in the league as of August 8, 2023 are:

  • Nsambya
  • Edgars
  • Water
  • Kireka United

The next round of matches in the league will be played on August 13, 2023.
