Island Cup

Introduction

The Island Cup is an amateur football league that is played on the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba in Tanzania.

The league was founded in 1970 and is currently contested by 16 teams.

The season runs from October to May, with each team playing each other once.

The top two teams at the end of the season qualify for the Island Cup final.

The first season was won by Malindi United.

The most successful team in the history of the Island Cup is Malindi United, who have won the competition 12 times.

The current champions are KMKM, who won the competition in 2022.
