The Hanover Park Local Football Association (HPLA) is an amateur football league in Cape Town, South Africa. It was founded in 1986 and currently has 78 teams playing across 7 divisions.
The HPLA is affiliated to the Western Province Football Association (WPFA) and the South African Football Association (SAFA).
The HPLA's mission is to promote and develop football in Hanover Park and to provide a platform for local players to develop their skills and talents.
The HPLA's vision is to be the leading amateur football league in Cape Town and to produce players who can represent South Africa at the highest level.
The HPLA was founded in 1986 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league was initially formed to provide a competitive outlet for local players and to promote the sport in the community.
The HPLA has grown steadily over the years and now has over 70 teams competing in the league. The league has also produced a number of talented players who have gone on to play professional football, including Steven Pienaar and Quinton Fortune.
The HPLA is divided into 7 divisions, with each division having 10 teams. The top two teams from each division are promoted to the higher division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the lower division.
The HPLA also has a knockout cup competition, which is played at the end of the season. The cup competition is open to all teams in the league.
