Garforth Junior Football League

The Garforth Junior Football League (GJFL) is an amateur football league for children aged 7-18 in the Garforth area of Leeds, England.

The league was founded in 1979 and currently has over 600 teams playing in a variety of divisions, from development to competitive.

The GJFL is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all players, regardless of their ability. The league also has a strong focus on education, with coaches and parents being given regular training on child protection and safeguarding.

History

The Garforth Junior Football League was founded in 1979 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just a few teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 600 teams playing in a variety of divisions.

The GJFL has a proud history of producing talented players. In recent years, several GJFL players have gone on to play professional football, including Lewis Cook, who currently plays for Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Structure

The Garforth Junior Football League is divided into a number of divisions, from development to competitive. The development divisions are designed for players who are just starting out, while the competitive divisions are for more experienced players.

The GJFL also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Garforth Junior Cup and the Garforth Junior Shield. The cup competitions are a great opportunity for teams to test themselves against other top teams from the area.
