About Garforth Junior Football League

Garforth Junior Football League

The Garforth Junior Football League (GJFL) is an amateur football league for children aged 7 to 18 in the Garforth area of Leeds, England.

The league was founded in 1972 and currently has over 600 teams playing in it. The teams are divided into different age groups and divisions, and each team plays a number of matches each season.

The GJFL is affiliated to the Football Association (FA), and its teams compete in the FA Vase and FA Youth Cup competitions.

League Structure

The GJFL is divided into four divisions: Division One, Division Two, Division Three, and Division Four. Each division has a different number of teams, depending on the number of teams that enter the league each season.

The teams in each division play each other twice, once at home and once away. The top teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom teams are relegated to the next division.

Cup Competitions

In addition to the league, the GJFL also runs a number of cup competitions. The main cup competition is the Garforth Junior Cup, which is open to all teams in the league.

The other cup competitions run by the GJFL are the Garforth Junior Challenge Cup, the Garforth Junior Trophy, and the Garforth Junior Fairplay Cup.
