Eastern Region Women's Football League

The Eastern Region Women's Football League (ERWFL) is an amateur football league for women in England. It is at the fifth and sixth levels of the English women's football pyramid, with the seven other Regional Leagues – London & SE, Southern, South West, East Mids, West Mids, North East and North West.

History

The ERWFL was founded in 1998. The inaugural season consisted of 10 teams, and the league has since grown to include 27 teams in the current season.

Structure

The ERWFL is divided into three divisions: Premier Division, Division One North, and Division One South. The Premier Division is the top division, and the top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the FA Women's National League Division One South East. The bottom two teams in the Premier Division are relegated to Division One North or Division One South.

The winners of Division One North and Division One South are promoted to the Premier Division. The bottom two teams in Division One North and Division One South are relegated to the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Football League, Cambridgeshire Football League, Essex County League, Norfolk Football League, or Suffolk Football League.
