The Cumberland County League is an amateur football league in Cumbria, England. It was founded in 1884 and is the oldest football league in Cumbria. The league currently has two divisions, Premier Division and Division One.

History

The Cumberland County League was founded in 1884 by a group of football clubs in Cumberland. The league's first season consisted of just four teams: Carlisle United, Workington, Whitehaven and Cleator Moor Celtic. The league has grown steadily over the years and now has over 50 member clubs.

The Cumberland County League has produced a number of professional footballers over the years, including Peter Beardsley, Alan Kennedy and Steve Bruce. The league also has a number of strong cup competitions, including the Benevolent Cup and the Conway Cup.

Current Season

The 2023-24 season is the 139th season of the Cumberland County League. The Premier Division is currently being led by Aspatria, while Division One is being led by Gosforth. The league's cup competitions are also underway, with the Benevolent Cup being contested by Aspatria and Carlisle City Development, and the Conway Cup being contested by Workington Reds Juniors Saturday Whites and Carlisle City Development.
