Birmingham & District Football League

The Birmingham & District Football League (formerly the Birmingham & District Amateur Football Association and often referred to as the Birmingham AFA) is an amateur association football competition covering the city of Birmingham, England, and the surrounding area, for football teams playing on a Saturday.

The league was founded in 1908 and currently consists of eight divisions, containing around 100 teams. The top division is the Premier Division, followed by Division 1, Division 2, and so on. The league also hosts a number of cup competitions, including the Bill Hill Cup, the Holder Cup, and the Jeffs Cup.

History

The Birmingham & District Football League was founded in 1908 by a group of amateur football clubs in the Birmingham area. The league's first season consisted of 12 teams, and the inaugural champions were Small Heath Old Boys.

The league has grown steadily over the years, and currently consists of eight divisions. The top division, the Premier Division, is currently sponsored by Toolstation.

The Birmingham & District Football League has produced a number of professional footballers over the years, including Trevor Francis, Geoff Hurst, and Peter Shilton.

Current Season

The 2023-2024 season is the 115th season of the Birmingham & District Football League. The current Premier Division champions are Old Wulfrunians.

The league's cup competitions are also currently underway. The Bill Hill Cup is currently being contested by the Premier Division teams, while the Holder Cup is being contested by the Division 1 teams.
