Andover & District Sunday League
The Andover & District Sunday League is an amateur football league based in Andover, Hampshire, England. It was founded in 1921 and currently has over 60 teams competing in three divisions.
History
The Andover & District Sunday League was founded in 1921 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The first season saw just six teams competing, but the league has grown steadily over the years and now has over 60 teams.
The league has been won by a variety of teams over the years, but some of the most successful include Andover Town, Andover Old Boys, and Andover Central.
Divisions
The Andover & District Sunday League currently has three divisions:
- Division 1
- Division 2
- Division 3
The top four teams from Division 1 at the end of the season are promoted to Division 2, while the bottom four teams from Division 2 are relegated to Division 3.
Cup competitions
The Andover & District Sunday League also runs a number of cup competitions, including:
- The Anniversary Cup
- The Junior Challenge Cup
- The Memorial Open Challenge Cup
- The Presidents Invitation Cup
The winners of these cup competitions qualify for the Hampshire FA Sunday Cup.
