Wreckingham were at a disadvantage from the off, being forced to play a man down following player strikes and injuries. It was a good solid start from WFC, the back 3 kept their shape and limited the opposition to tame efforts from range, with Bunn always a threat on the break. Wreckingham weren't able to create much but at 0-0 with only 5 players it wasn't much of a worry but the other side struck with a cruel deflection, which took the ball into the other corner of the goal. It was harsh on WFC who were well in the game and usually in matches liken these as soon as the first goal goes in there are usually more to follow.
They soon added a second just before half time and it looked like it was all over, the whole side visibly tired, 2-0 half time. After the break WFC started to come into the game more with their attacking, maybe the other side eased off with a 2-0 lead against 5 men. Wreckingham frequently stole the ball in one on ones and the opponents left 2 men back for most of the second half to try and deal with WFCs counter attacks. Mid way through the second half Bunn scored one of the goals of the season, picking up the ball just inside our half and battling through to beat 4 players and sticking the ball in the net.
At 2-1 the game became quite open and for the most part Wreckingham matched their opponents and could have levelled with a couple of half chances, making the other side work extremely hard for their win, a very good performance given the circumstances.
