WFC Lose First Game In 2017

WFC welcomed a return to the side of GK Steve which allowed Josh and Connor to play outfield in the same game for the first time in a while. The opposition probably started better with WFC not playing out from the back and in the midfield well in the early stages. Then the opposition took the lead from a poor mistake from WFC carelessly giving away the ball from a throw in which let in a man in acres of space on the right who couldn't miss. Not long after WFC came into the game more and equalised with Josh reacting the quickest after a bit of pin ball around the box 1-1. For much of the rest of the game it was WFC pushing for a goal creating all the chances but a mistake by Ed giving the ball away let the opposition in to take the lead 2-1. WFC were still pushing for the goal strongly after conceding but poor passing and finishing meant valuable chances were wasted and the opposition countered to score a 3rd and take the points with the last kick. The conditions weren't easy with a frozen pitch but WFC really should not have lost the game with the chances they had and normally consistent players made too many mistakes.
