The Worthing Dynamo U12 Black faced off against Selsey U12 in an engaging league away match on 22 September 2024, held at the Selsey U10 venue. Despite a spirited performance, the Dynamo succumbed to a 2-1 defeat, leaving them to reflect on a challenging outing.
The Worthing Dynamo adopted a 3-4-1 formation for the match, featuring a goalkeeper, three defenders, four midfielders, and a striker. Ellis Williams donned the gloves as the goalkeeper, supported at the back by a trio of defenders: Teddy Gill on the right, Toby Killick in the centre, and Harrison Flanagan on the left. In midfield, Woody Mason took up position on the right, with Leo Whyatt and Archie Parker-Muckle centrally, while Lewis Langdell provided width on the left. Up front, Reuben Wickens-Steele led the line as the lone striker, tasked with finishing the chances created by the midfield.
The bench was bolstered by the presence of Isaish Hatton, ready to make an impact when called upon.
The match kicked off with both teams eager to assert their dominance. The Dynamo opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Reuben Wickens-Steele converted a penalty, showcasing composure and accuracy to give his side an early lead.
