Away league match
Today's report is brought to you by Curtis Smith.
Two forced changes from the side that won last week with Mikey and Nick entering the team but returning to the 4-3-3 system.
The first 15 minutes was a battle in midfield as both teams needed to get used to the gale force winds, which caused chaos at the East Park Arena. The strength of the wind was on display when Harry (our goalkeeper) hit the post with a 90 yard shot within the first 20 minutes. Then to pull off a great one-on-one save just seconds after.
35 minutes into the first half and Craig, who has form of scoring worldies Vs Jack's Bar hit the bar from a tight angle. The wind was in Woodman Inn's favour and just before the half time whistle the breakthrough came.
Josh battled to win the ball in the middle of the park then played a nicely weighted pass to Matty on the wing. He took one quick look over his left shoulder and squared the ball to his Captain, Ryan to fire the ball past the keeper. 1-0 to Woodman Inn FC before the break.
Half Time
It's an old saying but it was a game of two halves. The Woodman Inn FC couldn't get used to the gale force winds, which seemed to pick up during the second half.
Just after 15 minutes into the second half Dan came off for Pricey in the centre of the park. The Woodman Inn had to defend deep with the wind, but also had to defend 6 corners in a row. Harry and Shaun as well as the whole team making sure the ball didn't end up in the net.
The boss thought fresh legs was needed and brought on Tom and Ash for Ross and Matty. This led to a change in personnel in the back four with 20 minutes to go.
With 80 minutes on the clock, the constant attacks for Jacks Bar paid off. With little pressure in the midfield, their midfielder picked up the ball and scored a 30 yarder, which just beat Harry at the near post.
With 5 minutes remaining, the Woodman Inn made their last few changes to see out the game. They brought on Chairman Loza and Assistant Manager Jimmy onto the pitch for Shaun and Mikey.
With just 1 minute left on the 90 minute clock, Jack's Bar was awarded a throw in. The long throw came in and they scored a bullet header from 8 yards out to make it 2-1 to the home team. Jack's Bar huffed and puffed and blew down The Woodman Inn's strong first half wall but sadly in this story, there's no happy ending.
