Angel Inn FC vs WOODMAN INN FC

The new year was brought in with a strongly fought out midfield battle. The opening 20 minutes contributed no clear cut changes as both teams tried to shake off those Christmas cobwebs. As the game began to open up Angel Inn came closest with a cross being met by the striker who unfortunately struck it over the bar. Woodman then began to pile on some pressure as they came closer and closer. A corner was cleared only as far as Dan Hemmings, who controlled it perfectly into the path of Jamie Morgan who cut it square across the edge of the area as Connor Clifton struck it cleanly into to the back of the net. Woodman came close minutes later with an Adam Loftus cross to high for the 5’5” Ryan Metcalfe.

Angel Inn came out looking to improve on their first half performance but the majority of the game remained in the centre of the pitch. Woodman Inn has the better of the chances but nothing clear cut. As changes began to be made the game opened up, but with the Angel Inn Centre back limping off it looked like it would be Woodmans day as the began to have the majority of the play in the final third. With 10minutes to go a Tim Lacey cross was brought down on the edge of the six yard box by Jay Tee who proceeded to poke it over the bar. Minutes later a Tim Lacey corner was fumbled by the keeper into the path of Shaun Pearce, who duly slotted in on front of his adoring missus, wrapping up the game for the Woodman.
