U10s Whites Match Report ??
??? Date - Sunday 9th November
?? Opponents - Reddish Vulcans Pumas
?? Result - 1-12
?? Competition - Christmas Cup match
A very tough game, and result today, but I cannot fault the boys efforts for their hard work all the way to the final whistle.
In possession -
We did struggle today to create changes for ourselves to get goals. This mainly come from our decision making when breaking forward to start an attack. We often took a few too many touches on the ball where instead, we should’ve got our heads up and looked for a pass into one of our players who were in a better position. However, we did see some great bits of individual brilliance as players would manage to beat their defenders, sometimes 2 or 3 of them at a time.
Out of possession -
Our pressing and recovery when running back to help the defence when Reddish were attacking, was not at the level that it usually is. This allowed Reddish a lot of time and space in key areas that lead to chances and ultimately, to us conceding. There were definitely moments today where we were our usual selves and we did battle and win our 1v1s which is a big positive, but at times, we lacked the aggression and fight to compete for the ball in these situations which resulted in them being able to create a lot of chances and ultimately punish us. Noah made some excellent saves to keep us in the game early on and continued to do so throughout the match.
? MOTM - Arlo
Arlo was brilliant today. He often found himself in situations where he would be in 2v1 situations and he managed to win the ball and get it away from our goal. He also battled very well in his 1v1s where he fought to be first to the ball and met it before the attacker could.
?? Goals - Billy
?? Assists - Arlo
With today being the last group game of the Christmas Cup I just wanted to say how well the boys have done over the 5 games. Their efforts, even in tough games where it became a struggle, have been brilliant. They have all stuck at it, never gave up and persisted to the very end of our matches. ????
See you all at training on Tuesday.
Thanks
Jayden and Sam. ??
