What a game of football!! A brilliant performance by the boys today and a big show of character from the whole team to come back from 2-1 down at half time.

In possession -

Today was another tough battle game which did get scrappy throughout. However, there was some excellent bits of football on show from the boys with some amazing combinations to play forward and through. It was a game of 2 halves today. In the first half, on a fair few occasions we would hold on to the ball a bit longer then we should and we would take an extra 1 or 2 touches where maybe we should’ve looked to offload the ball, but in the second half, we played better football with the combinations coming to light. We also put some great balls in behind their defence into good areas which give us more promising attacks and put us in good goal scoring positions. We were very clinical and put 5 past the opposition in the second half.

Out of possession -

A lot like the in possession, there was a difference between the 2 halves. In the first half, we dropped back quite deep which allowed them time on ball to carry it forward, or to pass it into good areas to attack and they were first to the loose ball. At half time me and Tom spoke to the boys about showing that aggression in the tackles and making sure that we were first to these loose balls and the boys did exactly that in the 2nd half. The defensive line stepped up which reduced the time and closed the space that they had on the ball. We were also so much more aggressive in our 1v1 battles to win the ball off them and we were first to those loose balls.

? MOTM - Sam and Billy

Sam was unplayable today causing the Precision defence constant issues and getting himself his first hatrick for the whites ??. The pace and aggression that he showed in the game was exactly what we needed from him upfront not allowing the defenders anytime on the ball.

Billy put in an excellent defensive performance today. He intercepted so many passes that they were looking to play in behind for their strikers to run in on but also put in a lot of big challenges to not allow Precision any chances to get in on goal.

In a very entertaining game the boys showed great character to step up at the end when we needed it and closed the game out in a great win and a big 3 points to push us up the table in the Christmas Cup. A big well done to all the lads.
