Great for us to get our 1st win in the Championship this morning! ???? We saw great improvements in our finishing today, all the boys hard work on this area with us in training has definitely paid off for us. The dedication of every player again was clear to see. No one gave up, and every single person contributed with a positive attitude.

In possession -

We started really strong in the first half. We created a few chances early on from breaking through their midfield and carrying it past their defence into the final 3rd. In the second half we looked to be more in control of the game. We dominated possession, created a lot of chances and kept a clean sheet.

Out of possession - ?

Our energy and press were our highlights of today’s game, their manager messaged me after the match saying that their team struggled to deal with it as it was relentless. Arlo and Billy did a great job of keeping a good line and not getting caught too high. They were constantly cutting out through balls that the opposition were trying to play and we gave them limited time on the ball by being aggressive with the press.

Arlo was solid defensively today. He did well intercepting the ball, winning the first ball and also competing for the second ball too. He was very calm in possession when playing out, getting his head up and trying to find a pass forward.

Jacob was very good today. He did well getting the ball out wide as well as dropping into the midfield, turning and driving us up the pitch, often taking on 1 or 2 players. He also scored 2 of our goals!

Whilst a win is a great result, and well deserved, the boys overall growth and consistency over the past 3 games is what has impressed me and Tom the most.
