A difficult game against a very good side, probably one of the best sides we will play against.
In possession -
Today was a tough battle game. When we were on the ball they pressed us well and didn’t allow us much time on it. We’re not very used to this approach and we struggled to play the passing game that we usually do. With a lack of movement from us all off the ball it was a struggle to move the ball up the pitch and out of our half. This resulted in us looking to play over the top, which at times seemed it would cause problems, but they dealt with it very well. Their defenders were first to the ball and also their keeper came out and cleared anything that would go over or past the 2 defenders. This was a very effective way to stop us from creating any chances.
Out of possession -
The boys battled well today against a good side who did have a lot of quality when on the ball which was very difficult to stop. After last week when we conceded 6 goals in 6 minutes and the players lost their composure, there was a period in the first half were this could have happened again; But, we kept a better shape and composure and the second half was a much improved performance. We showed a bit more aggression and hunger to win the ball back off them. This game has helped me, Tom and Sam to see what we can work on in training to help us when we are out of possession.
? MOTM - Albie
Albie was brilliant today throwing in some great tackles all over the pitch to stop attacks and to regain possession for us. He also broke play up really well with interceptions to deny any possible scoring opportunities for the opposition.

Let’s not allow our heads to go down and think about it too much as they were a great side. We turn our focus to next weekend.
