U10s Whites Match Report ??

What a performance today in our first ever match in the Championship. Everyone really stepped up to the next level and worked their socks off for the team. We were very unlucky with the final result, even the referee and their manager said the same.

We fought from the outset with great intensity and dominated and controlled the whole game.

In possession -

We held our shape and structure really well which gave players on the ball good options to move us forward up the pitch, the passes were well executed and we constantly had them under pressure. We created lots of goal scoring opportunities, unfortunately we didn’t put these away today, it’s an area we will continue to work on in training. On another day we could have walked away with at least 4/5 goals but today just wasn’t our day. It was great to see us creating so many chances though.

Out of possession -

We continued to maintain our shape and structure with the midfield 4 working extra hard having to get back behind the ball, which they did very well, and it was great to see the work rate and effort from the boys. Our 2 defenders all game held a great line, staying alongside each other. They dealt brilliantly with balls that came in behind and cleared them well leaving Noah with not much to deal with throughout the match.

? MOTM - Albie!

Very strong performances from all players today. It was a tough choice but Player of the Match goes to Albie. Albie was fantastic in the middle today, getting on the ball turning and getting the team forward. He created a fair few chances for us too. Out of possession he was excellent working back being first to every challenge and winning his battles. Well done Albie!

So proud of the lads performance and attitudes today. I know we had some upset faces at the end with final result of the match but I think there were so many positives to walk away with today. If we continue to play anything like we did today, I’m sure we’re in for a great season.

Finally… I’d like to give a warm welcome to Tom to the U10s Whites coaching team. Tom joins me bringing lots of coaching experience and knowledge and will be assisting me throughout the season in both training and on match days. Welcome on board Tom, great to have you. ????
