What a way to start our Christmas Cup campaign, not just with a win but with our first ever clean sheet too! ????

In possession -

Throughout the game the boys played some great football, moving it from defence into attack with some great combinations coming through the midfield and finding passes into Raff and Sam. On several occasions we managed to make 4-5 consecutive passes to get us up the pitch creating good goal scoring opportunities. A big well done to the lads as well as we managed to find the back of the net scoring 3 great goals and causing many issues for the opposition.

Out of possession -

The fight and want that the boys showed today to win the ball was exceptional with the 3 in midfield not allowing their players any time on the ball to try and plan an attack. When they did manage to break through, the boys at the back battled really well and tackled hard to make sure they had no way to get in on goal. Also the pressure Raff and Sam were applying to their defenders was exactly what we wanted. They didn’t allow them to have any time on ball and forced them to offload the ball into positions where we could regain possession and potentially break back at them.

? MOTM - Noah and Billy

Noah was incredible in goal today stopping every shot they had at him and making 2 unbelievable saves to keep them out of the game and getting himself his first clean sheet.

Billy was great playing in defence for the majority of the game then pushing into the midfield for last 10 minutes. He showed good aggression to win the ball and also to ensure that the attackers didn’t get past him. His distribution from the back was also amazing today as he was finding passes into the midfield and making some great passes to kick start attacks for us. Our second goal started with his quick kick in to find Seth down the line which ended with Jacob’s goal.

A big well done to all the boys in adapting to the new system we played today. Me and Tom made a change to the formation and the boys did exactly what we wanted them to do. Each and every instruction that we gave to the boys they listened too and put into action on the pitch. Everyone played their part today and the win and clean sheet is all down to their efforts and contributions for the team.
