<p>Witham's first game of the year was a local derby against Hatfield Swann. Johnson was unavailable due to suspension, Jackson still injured and Yates away on leave.<p>Witham went close in the first minute when Yeo found room out on the left but his shot was saved. Swann then had a dominant spell for 20 minutes and went close twice. The away side was forced in to a change early on with Humphrys injured debutant Gage was introduced. O'Connor went close with a header before he continued his goal run with a close range header after a flick on from Gage.<p>HALF TIME HATFIELD SWANN 0 WITHAM GALACTICOS 1<p>Witham were quick out the blocks and scored when Yeo finished well. An error at the back gifted a goal back to the opponents but Gage was well placed to increase the lead after a good ball from J Stoneham. Galacticos keeper Young was called upon a couple of times to save well as Swann pushed forward but on 85 minutes the game was sealed when Yeo picked up Gage's ball beat his man and fired past the keeper at the near post. The goals didnt stop there Gagey headed home from close range after meeting Rowlands delivery then it was upto J Stoneham to get his second hat trick in as many weeks within 2 minutes. 2 well timed finishes and a great volley to make it 7 in 2 games and Galacticos 8th.
