A tough start on paper to our pre season friendlies with all the squad available against a Cherrybrook team that are always competitive.
We went 1 down early doors due to some missed tackles and blocks.
That seemed to wake us up and we raced into a 4-1 half time lead with goals from Dunne, Whittle, Mcmanus and Lappin.
The second half started encouragingly and Lappin added a 5th, you could be forgiven for thinking we were coasting but the opposition were putting is under a good amount of pressure and pulled one back.
Some fine goalkeeping from Glynn maintained the margin between the teams and McManus added a 6th courtesy of a wicked looping deflection that would have had the dubious goals panel in deep debate.
Cherrybrook were not done and had some fine long range efforts which Glynn was equal to. They then pulled back a 3rd and our lads needed to dig in. We did just that and Mcmanus rounded off his hat trick to make it 7-3.
As our lads tired the opposition made use of their 10 subs to add fresh legs and pull it back to a final score of 7-5.
