Neutral league match

Today seen our 2015 Whites match up against a strong Grangemouth YFC at the Livingston FC central venue. The boys, led by Captain Noah were keen to display the things they've been working on in training.

The match started off at 100 mph in an end to end battle. After some excellent defending from Caelen and Tom we worked our way up the park and got the breakthrough in the shape of a penalty that Noah won after being tripped in the box. He dusted himself of to take it himself but the Grangemouth goalie made a great save, Noah calmy dispatched the rebound into the bottom corner.

That breakthrough saw us get a grip of the game for the next 15 minutes or so. Jenson dominating the middle of the park with some great tackling, passing and dribbles. Our passing game was key, playing it out from the back, driving runs from Marco and Caleb helped keep us up the park, Noah continually making good movements and putting the Grangemouth back line under pressure.

Our second goal came from good play down the left hand side, Caelen finding Caleb who in turn played Noah in on goal who finished expertly, keeping up his great goalscoring form.

Grangemouth finished the first half strongly putting us under pressure with some good passing and testing Cullen several times. They got one back before the break.

The second half started the same as the first ended with Grangemouth on the front foot. They had our boys under a lot of pressure, the boys had to defend resolutely but Grangemouth found the equaliser after Cullen had made some more saves.

The game became a bit more stretched after that, Kacper and Dexter trying to drive us forward with surging runs but we just couldn't find the decisive pass. Michael had to make several last ditch tackles to keep the score level. After more pressure from Grangemouth they broke free and the attacker finished well from a very tight angle with 5 minutes left. Our boys rallied but just couldn't find a leveler.

After a string of several eye caching saves Cullen was voted Player of the Match.

Onto another good week of training ahead where we can continue to improve.

Mon the Albion ??
